WebOct 28, 2009 · Our ebony chinchilla, Escher, started getting matted fur about a month or so ago. It's just one one side, for the most part. We were in the process of moving so we thought it might be stress related but now that we are settled in, he's been picking at the matts. We've tried brushing him a little but it doesn't really help.
